When We Collided

"We are seventeen and shattered and still dancing. We have messy, throbbing hearts, and we are stronger than anyone could ever know…
Jonah never thought a girl like Vivi would come along.

Vivi didn’t know Jonah would light up her world.

Neither of them expected a summer like this…a summer that would rewrite their futures.

In an unflinching story about new love, old wounds, and forces beyond our control, two teens find that when you collide with the right person at just the right time, it will change you forever."

Holy cow. This book was fantastic!!!

This book is about two teenagers - Vivi and Jonah - who are both broken in their own way. Vivi is an intense, colorful, and loud person who is go, go, go all the time. Jonah is a tree, constant, reliable, and there for his younger siblings after a tragic loss in his family.

We follow the story of Vivi and Jonah from each of their perspectives (something I LOVE), how they meet, how they fall in love, and how they both change each other's lives in ways they could have never dreamed of.

One thing I loved about this book is that neither character was perfect, they both had their flaws which made this book that much more interesting. Emery is able to touch on some pretty hefty subjects, death, depression, and bi-polar disorder, in ways that I don't think every author would be able to.

This was quite the whirl wind of a book, I felt myself slipping in to the emotional roller coasters with mainly Vivi, but also with Jonah. I think that is what makes this book fantastic is the fact that you really are taken in to this book and almost become an active participant with it.

Read this book please. It is a wonderful story. You will laugh, you will cry, you will want to give all of these characters a hug by the end of the book.
